CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS ARE UNDER ATTACK

As home schoolers, we are focussed on the parental freedom of choice in education. God made us parents to be responsible for the life, nurture and upbringing of our children. We have chosen a unique way to educate our children.

However, not all families have chosen home schooling. Many have chosen to send their children to Christian schools or to other faith-based schools.

Faith-based schools are now under attack by the Australian Law Reform Commission (ALRC). The ALRC has made recommendations that would destroy faith-based schools, by removing the school’s ability to employ staff that practice the same faith as the school.

Would you be willing to write a letter to your local Federal Member of Parliament (MP) to express your request that the Government reject the recommendations of the ALRC?

If you are willing, I have written some guidelines for writing to your MP. The first 2 pages give you some background information about this attack on faith-based schools and how to write your letter. Page 3 gives you an example of a simple, short letter.

This attack affects more than Christian schools. I believe that if the ALRC’s recommendations are passed into law, that the same activists will eventually attack the Christian churches in the same way.

So, if you believe in Christian and faith-based schools, or even if you believe in genuine freedom, and different educational alternatives to state-based schooling, it would be a great contribution to our nation, if you (and your older students) took the time to write a letter to your MP.

Thanks for your commitment to freedom, educational diversity, and parent choice.
