There is a growing body of academic research evidence that illustrates the vital importance of reading for pleasure, for educational and personal development and future success.

The research clearly shows that independent reading is the BEST predictor of reading achievement and academic success.  A large scale survey of over 18, 000 young people found that those who reported enjoying reading were six times more likely be successful in their learning.

Young people who reported not enjoying reading at all were 11 times more likely to read below the level expected for their age.

It is our aim at ACHS to assist you to develop your students to improve their reading ability so that they are reading at, or above the expected level for their age. You are key to developing your child’s reading ability.
