We use spoken and written words every single day to communicate ideas, thoughts, and emotions to those around us. Sometimes we communicate successfully, and sometimes we’re not quite so successful. A good vocabulary can help us say what we mean. Here are some new words to add to your student’s vocabulary.
Election (noun)
An act or process of being elected.
e.g. He is favoured to win the election.
Political (adjective)
Of or relating to government, a government or the conduct of government.
e.g. The senator has changed political parties.
Government (Noun)
e.g. The Australian Federal Government.
Govern (Verb)
Conduct the policy, actions, and affairs of (a state, organisation, or people) with authority
e.g. They have been elected to govern over us.
