TEST MARKING AND RETURN PROCEDURES

Home Schooling can appear to be a daunting task at the best of times, let alone during a pandemic. We would like to commend all of our families for the work that they do in the home providing an opportunity for your children to learn in a safe and happy environment.

While it is starting to get much busier in our office, we though it would be a good time to revisit some fo the Testing and Scoring procedures. During the last few months, we have seen an increasing amount of tests returned without the appropriate procedures being followed. It is important to the success of the A.C.E. Program that all procedures are faithfully followed.

  1. Please ensure that students are not marking their own tests! It is the parents responsibility to mark the student's tests, and this should be done with a green pen, and with the score clearly marked on the front of the test in the designated space.

  2. Please ensure that all tests returned are NAMED, DATED, and have the TEST SCORE clearly written on the provided space.

  3. When marking the test, start with a score of 100, and then deduct the value of any incorrect questions, to give you your final test score.

    1. i.e. Sophie does a Maths test where all the answers have a value of 3 points. In this test, Sophie gets 3 answers wrong. Sophie's test score will be 91% (100 - 9)

  4. All tests should be marked on the day that the student sits the test and before the student starts on the next PACE.

  5. If a student achieves a score, less than the 80% required pass mark, do not allow the student to start on the next PACE. The student should go through a process of review, and resit the test until they reach the required pass mark. If a test is returned to us with a score of less than 80%, we will post it back to you with instructions on how to address it.

  6. Please, where possible, post all completed tests back to the ACHS office on a monthly basis. This allows for accurate monitoring of the student's progress, and avoids months of tests being lost in the mail on the rare occasion that it does go missing.

If you feel that you would like a refresher on some of the A.C.E. Procedures, feel free to contact our office, and we will gladly provide you with some videos to take you through it.
